​Misti grew up in the Brazos Valley.  She graduated from A&M Consolidated High School and then attended Texas A&M University. She obtained her law degree from The University of Texas School of Law and joined a mid-sized firm in Austin, Texas.  While in practice, Misti represented employers in non-subscriber litigation and handled general business litigation matters.

When her family returned to College Station, Misti obtained her doctoral degree at Texas A&M University in Communication Studies. Misti is a frequent lecturer at Texas A&M where she speaks about communication skills and legal issues.  She is committed to using her communication skills in mediation and legal cases.
